High-calibre product design

Platin flat tank nominated for Design Award 2011

The "Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" is the highest official German design award. The prize is awarded by the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology and the awards ceremony organised by the German Design Council. To be included in the selection procedure, a product has to be nominated by one of the state economic ministers or senators or the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The product must also have already received a national or international award.

GRAF's Platin flat tank has been nominated for this highly coveted prize for the year 2011. It won over the jury in all relevant criteria and has been praised by the German Design Council for its "outstanding product design". The Platin flat tank allows end users with small gardens to harvest between 1500 and 7500 litres of rainwater. As it is not installed deep in the ground, the end user saves time and money in the process. The unbeatable design of the Platin flat tank lends the low-weight product incredible stability. Filter technology which is self-cleaning and low-maintenance can be integrated. GRAF launched this product in September 2009 and it has proved a real hit on the market.

"The product nominated for the "Designpreis der Bundesrepublik Deutschland" has proved a great instrument in communicating the company's design skills to its target groups," says Andrej Kupetz, who sits on the Executive Board of the Design Council.
